QDC has in-house executives with decades of demonstrable track record and experience in post-acquisition integration, business turnaround, capacity building and corporate restructuring. We have a deal flow of acquisition projects. Principally, QDC employs commercial debt to execute acquisition deals in the style of a leveraged buyout (LBO) model. Mafipe Chunga
Board Member
Education and Professional Experience: With degrees in Law and Accounting, Mr. Chunga is a registered Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of work experience in consulting and M&A roles gained at KPMG Zambia, a leading Big 4 firm. His professional experience spans assignments across Southern Africa, with a particular focus on dynamics within Zambia. This broad cross-sectoral experience enables him to maintain a big picture perspective while still appreciating the nuances of individual industries. During his early career, Mr. Chunga served in the Corporate Banking division of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group, honing his financial acumen and gaining a deep understanding of the banking sector. He further expanded his expertise through a series of consultancy and advisory roles at KPMG Zambia. His work encompassed a wide range of services, including due diligence, feasibility studies, compliance reviews, fraud investigations, training assessments, grant financing assessments, and regulatory reviews. His clients included government agencies, trade bodies, NGO's funded by the US, UK, and Finnish governments, as well as companies in various industries such as insurance, energy, agribusiness, telecommunications, oil, FMCG manufacturing, healthcare, mining, steel production, and retail.
Mr. Chunga's skill set was further enhanced during his tenure at Citibank Zambia, where he worked in the Corporate & Investment Banking division. He managed a diverse client portfolio, serving prominent corporates such as ZESCO, Toyota Zambia, Zambeef, CFAO, and Itezhi Tezhi Power Corporation. This experience deepened his understanding of corporate finance, investment banking, and relationship management.

Mike Chilufya
Board Member
Experience: Over the years, Mr. Chilufya has played a pivotal role in advising on a diverse range of cross-border M&A and financing transactions. His areas of expertise include acquisition and leveraged financing, corporate financing, sovereign financing, project financing, and syndicated lending transactions. His comprehensive understanding of these complex transactions enables him to provide invaluable guidance throughout the deal-making process.
Prior to joining Mulenga Mundashi Legal Practitioners, Mr. Chilufya served as an Associate at Corpus Legal Practitioners under the esteemed Banking and Finance Department. His exceptional skills and reputation led to his secondment to the Legal Department at African Banking Corporation Zambia Limited, commonly known as Atlas Mara Zambia. During his time there, Mike contributed significantly to various legal tasks, including M&A issues relating to a potential takeover of Atlas Mara by Equity Group Holdings in 2019. His involvement in this highprofile transaction highlights his ability to navigate complex legal landscapes and provide strategic advice.
Education and Accolades: Mr. Chilufya is a distinguished member of the Law Association of Zambia and is admitted to the bar in Zambia. He holds an LLB from the prestigious University of Zambia, coupled with a Legal Practitioners Qualifying Examination Post-Graduate Certificate from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education.

Lutombi Kawana

Professional Experience
Cooperative Society (UK) and National Westminster Bank (UK): Mr. Kawana served in notable positions at this esteemed institution, gaining valuable expertise in banking and finance.
Citibank Zambia Limited: During his tenure at Citibank Zambia, Mr. Kawana held the position of Resident Vice President. In this role, he was responsible for Cash Management, including Cash & Tellers, Treasury Operations, and Trade. Additionally, Mr. Kawana served as the Anti-Fraud Officer for five years, successfully ensuring zero registered fraud cases at Citibank Zambia. In his final year, he took on the responsibility of Internal Audit as well.
PRIDE Zambia: Mr. Kawana's leadership as CEO of PRIDE Zambia, a part of an East & Central Africa microfinance network, resulted in the institution becoming the largest microfinance institution in Zambia in terms of customers and value. Under his reign, PRIDE Zambia operated with 70 Zambian employees, 10 branches, and 5,000 customers across four provinces (Copperbelt, Eastern, Lusaka, Southern). Mr. Kawana's focus on the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) led to the introduction of innovative products like the Advance Against Certified Orders, which facilitated phenomenal growth for the SME customers.
Copper Development Foundation Ltd: As the Managing Director of the Copper Development Foundation Ltd, Mr. Kawana achieved marked success. His contributions to the organization exemplified his ability to drive results and make a positive impact within the industry.

Abacus360: Mr. Kawana served as a Business Consultant at Abacus360, an accountancy firm with offices in Lusaka, Mkushi, and Rwanda. In this role, he assessed project proposals, prepared funding proposals, business plans, and investment license applications to the Zambia Development Agency.

Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO): Mr. Ngambi served as the Chief Digital Banking Officer, leveraging his expertise in digital technology to drive innovation and enhance the bank's digital banking offerings.
Zanzibar Telecom (ZANTEL): As the Chief Commercial Officer of ZANTEL, Mr. Ngambi played a pivotal role in developing and executing commercial strategies to drive business growth and enhance customer experience.
Milicom Tigo: In his role as Regional Director - Sales, Distribution & Customer Operations, Mr. Ngambi was based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He contributed to the success of the organization by implementing effective sales and distribution strategies across multiple markets.
MTN Zambia: Mr. Ngambi held the position of Executive Head - Mobile Financial Service, where he oversaw CAPEX Governance Management and Project Support. His work in this role contributed to the advancement of mobile financial services in Zambia.
Present Role: Currently, Mr. Ngambi serves as the Director of Consulting Services at Mobicom Africa, specializing in E-Commerce, Digital Banking, and Fintech. In this capacity, he provides strategic guidance and expertise to clients, helping them navigate the rapidly evolving digital landscape and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
