Job Description Your Career This role supports Palo Alto Networks’ legal department by optimizing outside counsel management and spend. Responsibilities include managing outside counsel engagements, selection, onboarding, performance evaluation, and billing review. You will also maintain legal technologies for e-billing, matter management, and spend analytics. The role reports to the Director, Head of Legal Operations, and collaborates with legal teams, finance, and outside counsel. Your Impact Oversee quarterly and annual legal budgets with Finance. Collaborate on legal spend forecasting and budgeting. Develop strategies to reduce outside counsel spend while maintaining quality. Implement preferred vendor panels and spend optimization strategies. Manage onboarding, selection, and evaluation of outside counsel. Negotiate billing rates and alternative fee arrangements. Oversee e-billing accuracy, compliance, and invoice processing. Develop legal spend analytics and reporting to identify trends and savings. Implement and support legal technology solutions for outside counsel management. Stay current on best practices for outside counsel management and legal spend. Train legal teams and outside counsel on billing and e-billing processes. Drive continuous improvement in legal operations processes and systems. Build strong relationships with cross-functional partners. Qualifications Your Experience A self-starter with enthusiasm, capable of working independently and supporting projects as needed. Passionate about operations and diverse projects. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Attention to detail, professional judgment, and process development skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 7+ years in legal operations, focusing on outside counsel management and legal billing systems. Experience with legal technology solutions, including matter management, e-billing, and spend analytics platforms. Compensation Disclosure Starting salary ranges from $142,000 to $178,000 annually, depending on qualifications and location. Compensation may include stock units and bonuses.
