Best Places Honoree - 2023 Position Name: Snowflake Data Engineering Consultant As a Snowflake Data Engineering Consultant, your main responsibilities will be to support the Snowflake data warehouse performance by monitoring system usage, analyzing query execution, and optimizing SQL queries and database schemas. You'll also manage compute resources, implement indexing and partitioning strategies, and provide support to users for query optimization. Requirements Scope Monitor system performance and usage patterns. Analyze query execution plans and resource consumption. Review and optimize SQL queries for efficiency. Design and implement database schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval. Utilize clustering keys and sort keys to improve query performance. Configure warehouses and resource monitors based on workload patterns. Scale resources up or down as needed to meet performance requirements. Implement indexing strategies to accelerate query performance. Develop and optimize ETL processes for data ingestion. Document performance tuning techniques and best practices. Share knowledge and provide training to other team members. Skills Experience in a role performing data warehouse and analytics solution design and development using a variety of techniques Understanding of data architecture design, data modeling, and physical database design and tuning Hands-on experience in implementation of cloud data warehouses using Snowflake. Hands-on experience in cloud technologies, such as AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud Ability to understand data pipelines and modern ways of automating data using cloud based and on premise technologies Experience managing and creating extractions and queries in SQL Experience designing and developing data integration solutions using both ETL and ELT techniques SnowPro Certified or SnowPro Advanced Certification a plus Behavior The ideal candidate will...
